Kudos becomes Huddo plus more!

Good things are coming your way! We are taking steps to make sure that the blockbuster Kudos Apps Suite leads the way into the future of the digital office. 

‘The office’ that has transformed quite a bit in recent years, especially during 2020. Our design goals have always been to develop software that is intuitive to use, encourages user adoption through clever design, measures performance and increases your productivity. This agile process is changing our products in parallel with the transformation of the digital office.

It’s time to reflect who we are, now, with our name. We are excited to announce that Kudos Apps Suite is now called Huddo Apps! And can be found at:

www.huddo.com. 

So why are we changing our much loved name? 

First a bit of history…. 

Kudos started out over a decade ago as a product that encouraged the adoption of IBM/HCL Connections. We gave “Kudos” to users to learn the benefits of Connections. Kudos Badges is still smashing goals today and helping clients to increase their adoption of Connections. It has been a great success. Then came Kudos Analytics and Kudos Awards and Thanks, which are also still very popular today. 

Next came Boards which took Connections Activities to a new level. We called it Kudos Boards mainly as it was focused on the same areas as the rest of the Kudos Apps Suite. Boards became our flagship product, very quickly, and is the backbone to our ongoing growth. On the back of Boards we have been able to take our HCL Connections partnership even further with Activities Plus, but also expand into the Microsoft 365 realm and beyond. We have some very exciting plans for extending this even further in 2021 with another new product... but that is for later. 

Our software has been continuously influenced by our customers. What they do. How they work. How they communicate. Not only are our customers at the centre of our product development, now they have inspired our name.

With the transformation to a new name and new branding, we feel that our app suite gets the spotlight it deserves. We will bring new functionality and more integrations into Microsoft 365 and HCL Digital Solutions at an even faster pace. We have a very exciting roadmaps for both platforms. 

What does Huddo mean?

It is no coincidence that Huddo alludes to the word “huddle”, an action of a team gathering, usually in a tight circle, to strategise, motivate or celebrate. This act of working as a team is exactly what our Huddo Apps do. People working together. Collaborating together. Succeeding together. 

What does it mean for current Kudos Boards customers and Activities Plus? 

It’s all good for our existing clients and users of Boards. We will seamlessly transition our Boards Cloud users across to Huddo with auto-magic redirections. Our Apps and integrations will all be updated so users won’t be impacted. They will see some changes around branding initially but other than that it will be business as usual. These changes will occur over the next few weeks as the various apps and integrations with Microsoft get approved through their processes. For our Collab.Cloud users of Boards and Activities Plus everything will also magically change over.  

For a period of time we will also have kudosboards.com running side by side with boards.huddo.com. This will mean that regardless of which site users go to, they will still be able to log in and access their Boards without issue. Furthermore, if a user changes a Board in kudosboards.com, the change will also appear in boards.huddo.com (and vice versa). So, whichever site you and your other team members go to, you will all be working on the same Boards.

So rest assured, we have this covered. At a logical point everything will be cut over and redirected to Huddo. 

A new name will bring new features!
(and new tools) 

With the announcement of Huddo we are also very pleased to be releasing a very exciting capability for Boards – A new far more powerful API and integration capability. We have invested a lot of effort into improving the Huddo Boards API. This is an area clients have asked us to improve, so we have listened. In addition we have integrated Huddo Boards (for both our cloud and on-premise customers) with both Zapier and Microsoft Power Automate. These integrations allow Boards to be easily plugged into other applications, supporting automations, workflows and data transfer to thousands of other software services available in the market today. We will provide a lot more on this exciting capability as we officially launch Huddo.
