Where’s Wannes? From Germany to Japan - Huddo event hopping
First up… Australia. Because time spent with Australian colleagues is time well spent! Fair dinkum
If you are going to travel from Belgium to Japan, you may as well go a little further and catch up with colleagues at ISW and Huddo HQ. It just makes sense, and we cannot deprive Wannes and Hailey of the chance to reunite and take small-town-Jazz-band album covers! …. And yes… Hailey is on the drums!
Second Stop… Japan for the Domino Hub event with business partner KTrick.
Vanessa Hutchinson and Wannes Rams went to Japan on 10-15 June 2024, to work alongside Kazu, ISW’s Japanese business partner, and his company KTrick.
The highlights of the week included:
Flying to Kobe for a discussion around Domino App-only hosting. This was a really interesting meeting filled with technical detail… and of course, the evening concluded with the famous Kobe Beef Yakiniku!
We attended the Domino Hub event which hosted 250 online registrants for the first day of the event, followed by approx 70 attendees in person for the second day of the event. ISW sponsored lunch for the attendees and we had 2 speaker sessions. Wannes delivered a session on The Benefits of Using HCL Connections and together Wannes and Vanessa delivered a commercial session about ISW, as a company, along with our offerings, including Huddo Boards (Japanese version!), MSP hosting, and panagenda's MarvelClient.
Vanessa had the opportunity to use her beginner's Japanese to introduce our session. Check out the video below.
We also had the following meetings:
Meeting at the KTrick office followed by dinner with the KTrick team.
Meeting with the IBM team responsible for one of our Activities+ projects.
Wannes and Vanessa were invited to visit the Amazon offices in Tokyo, where they saw some of the exciting solutions currently being developed by AWS. After the meeting they had a tour of the Amazon offices... which (we are told) were amazing!
Third destination, #DACHNUG51 in Germany, focusing on Huddo Boards for HCL Connections, Domino, and DX.
From the 17-19 of June, the Huddo team were in Regensburg, Germany to sponsor and present at DACHNUG51. Although many of the attendees, business partners and sponsors were familiar to us, it was our first time sponsoring and attending. From Australia, Hailey Berkhout and Adam Brown attended, and from our European office, (you’ve guessed it) Wannes Rams from Belgium.
This was the second time that the Huddo team was in Europe in the space of two months, being in Belgium in April for EngageUG, we had a quick turn around to get back to Europe for DNUG in June. It was well worth the trip for the chance to reconnect with our customers in Germany, catch up with our business partners like HCL, Belsoft, TimeToAct, OnTime, and many more.
Highlights of our time at DNUG included:
Promoting the latest Huddo integration into HCL Software, only announced in April, the Huddo Boards for HCL DX integration and free entitlement of Activities+.
Sharing the latest features and new releases for Huddo Boards.
Presenting Real Customer User Cases of Huddo Boards.
Giving away Huddo Boards playing cards to visitors to our booth.
Speaking with customers and Activities+ users about how they can get the best experience and most value for their investment.
In addition to the great conversations we had on all things work-related, we had the chance to relax, laugh, and enjoy some social conversations. A highlight of the conference was the dinner cruise down the Danube River and a walk up to Walhalla, a neo-classical building above the Danube River, the exterior of which is modeled on the Parthenon in Athens.
With Huddo Boards for HCL DX recently released, the team made sure to outline the free entitlement of Activities+ with HCL DX. The event also provided opportunities for the team to talk with HCL management and outline further future partnerships.
Final stop… Tuscany, simply to recharge and enjoy the rolling hills, medieval towns, and WINE!
Wannes then took a well-earned break after traveling over 19,000 miles (9,248 miles from Germany to Australia, 4,204 miles from Australia to Japan, and 5,619 miles from Japan to Germany). We will end on a few holiday snaps.
So, where will we see Wannes next?……
